The event will be a 10 round norm-governed swiss tournament using the BAP scoring system (explained below). It is open to anyone rated above 2200 FIDE, with a few exceptions made by the organizers. Info on BAP scoring system and pairings:
The BAP (Ballard Anti-Draw Point) system will be used for scoring purposes. This will affect prizes and pairings, but not norms. This system awards points as follows:
- Black win – 3 points
- White win – 2 points
- Black draw – 1 points
- White draw, or any loss – 0 points
Pairings will prioritize the color balance in even rounds. All pairings will be posted both at the site and online. Round 1 will be posted on 12/15 at 5 PM. Rounds 2-4 will be posted as soon as possible after the previous round ends, and round 5 on 12/17 at midnight. Rounds 6-10 will be posted by 11 PM of the previous night.
