2006 Young People's Chess Tournament

Saturday, February 25th and Sunday, Febuary 26th, 2006

A USCF rated event in 2 sections

Hosted by the East Bay Chess Club


Location: 1940 Virginia St., Berkeley, CA
      (cross street Milvia, close to Downtown and North Berkeley BART, free weekend parking)
      Please note the event is NOT at UC Berkeley this year!
      The regular People's Tourmanent will be held on Feb 11-12 (under 1800 sections) and Feb 18-20 (over 1800 sections)!

Sections and Rounds:
Grades K-3 11 AM, 12 PM, 1:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 3:30 PM, on Saturday, Feb 25 ONLY
Grades 4-12 11 AM, 1:30 PM, and 3:30 PM on both days (Feb 25 and 26)

Entry fee: $25 if mailed before 2/18/06, $30 thereafter
      $5 discount for East Bay Chess Club Members

      If you submit the online form, it will count as though mailed to the Club on day submitted.

Prizes: Trophies to top 15 in each section.
      Also a free lesson with an EBC instructor to the top 2 in each section.

Registration/Check-in: 10-10:45 AM on Saturday, Feb 25

      Current USCF membership is required and, if needed, can be purchased at the Club.

Time control: Game in 30 minutes for K-3; Game in 1 hour for Grades 4-12

Due to problems where people submit the online form and then do not show up for the tournament, thus causing forfeits in the first round, we are changing our policy regarding this form. Please note that while submitting this form gives you a spot in our tournament, if you fail to show up for the tournament without notifying us beforehand, we reserve the right to refuse your entry to a later tournament. If you fill out the form and wait to pay on site, then to guarantee that we pair you, you must show up BEFORE the first round begins!

The tournament is now closed! We have reached our capacity for the event and will NOT be able to take any new on-site entries. People who signed up previously online have a spot reserved in the tournament and SHOULD show up during the registration time. We apologize for the inconvenience.
